This July, Impact won the title of UK's Best Workplaces™ for Women in the medium-sized organisation category 2019. The Best Workplaces for Women award celebrates work environments that promote a fully inclusive culture, where gender neutrality is promoted as a priority amongst employees.
We asked Samantha Carey, General Manager at Impact UK, what makes a great place to work for women…
‘’We are extremely proud to demonstrate growing levels of gender diversity and inclusion at all levels in our organisation, including women at a senior level on our board and global leadership teams. Inclusivity is at the core of everything we do and we are always looking for new ways to accommodate and enhance our diversity policies’’.
The Best Workplace Awards are a part of the Great Place to Work initiative and they have been recognising the successes of UK businesses from small companies to international firms since 2000. Companies in the Best Workplaces for Women category must actively convey values which support diversity and the progression of female employees, building and nurturing collaborative, diverse communities.
Impact has consistently demonstrated its strong commitment to meeting the needs of women in the workplace by offering tailored and flexible contracts, including for working parents. Excellent holiday, maternity, health insurance and pensions are standard, but the real benefits shine through Impact’s culture:
- Health and wellbeing is a business priority and goes far deeper than the open kitchen and lunchtime yoga sessions – it means individualism, flexibility, autonomy, trust and praise.
- Frequent personal and professional development opportunities are standard.
- The collaborative, family-feel culture is core to employees' working lives and extends to families at family days like the summer fete.
Impact offer equal opportunities for all, with fantastic careers whether employees work full-or-part-time, and for those with family commitments Impact will flex to accommodate. Samantha added: “This award for us is about more than recognising that women have an equal voice at Impact. This outstanding achievement is an acknowledgment that our employees, regardless of gender, are treated fairly and given the same opportunities and flexibility in order to bring their best selves to work.”
Impact’s mission is to build organisations worth working for, and we look forward to the day when all organisations enable equality and create cultures of difference and belonging.
