Unlock is leadership and life readiness experience designed to help young people develop the confidence, resilience, and perspective needed to thrive in an increasingly complex world.

Set in the breathtaking English Lake District and delivered in partnership with the University of Cumbria, Unlock combines leadership development, outdoor adventure, wellbeing, sustainability, and future readiness to create an experience that participants will remember and use for a lifetime.

Set in the heart of England's Lake District, Unlock is an international experience for students who want more from their summer. Through outdoor adventure, conservation projects, leadership experiences, wellbeing practices, business insights, community engagements, sustainability inputs and team-building initiatives, participants discover what they're capable of when they step beyond their comfort zone. 

This isn't about filling time with activities; it's about learning through experience. The program is delivered by Impact (bringing five decades of expertise in experiential learning and leadership development, working with business leaders and organizations across the globe) and the University of Cumbria (renowned for its strengths in outdoor education, sustainability and learning through nature). Together, these partners combine academic insight with real-world learning in the extraordinary setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Lake District - where you're motivated by the landscapes that have inspired hundreds of big thinkers from William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter to Taylor Swift. 


During the program, students will contribute to nature recovery projects, explore regenerative farming, support one another through outdoor adventure, work with local communities, develop leadership skills, build resilience and form lasting friendships. Along the way they gain confidence, self-awareness, independence and a clearer sense of direction for the future. They leave with unforgettable memories, meaningful experiences, practical life skills and stories that help them stand out in university applications, future careers and life beyond school.
