BDO is the fifth largest full service accounting and advisory firm in the world. In Australia they have more than 160 partners and over 1,300 people providing tax. Impact worked with BDO to design a practical yet inspirational development programme for emerging leaders.

The Apex Leadership Development Program in Australia was developed as a result of an initial directive from the Executive Committee to design a practical yet inspirational development program for the emerging leaders. The Team worked in close partnership with Impact Australia on the leadership journey and The Talea Group on business development to design and deliver the Apex Program.

The Apex program combines Impact’s current thinking on leadership and The Talea Group’s experience in business development to enhance organisational performance coupled with lots of practical experience, tools and techniques. The multi-modular program included 360° feedback, diagnostics, cross-functional business projects, experiential projects and learning reviews.

"Throughout the program learning was created through integrating experience with theory and drawing practical conclusions. Feedback to individuals about the effectiveness of their leadership and business development actions ensured that the learning was relevant, leading to lasting behavioural change in the workplace." - Afroditi Bousnakis, National Head of Learning & Development

"The assignment has been so successful for both organisations that they are building upon the work already achieved for a sustainable, ongoing partnership for the future. The partnership with Turning Point is an important element of Scottish & Newcastle's approach to responsible drinking. This project provided an opportunity to practise the skills learnt in the workshops and has enabled our graduates to learn the realities and practicalities of working as a team."

“What Impact really brought to the table was the human element. They really listened to what we wanted, and every time we posed a problem or had a question, instead of getting frustrated, they were excited by it! That attitude is the attitude we want for our staff and our students.”
