The University of Cumbria Business School launched the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS) at the Royal Geographical Society in London, May 2013. On the theme "Adventures in Sustainability", it included speeches from RGS Vice President Paul Rose, Futerra co Founder Ed Gillespie, Wild Swimming Author Daniel Start, University Senior Lecturer Kate Rawles, Co-founder of Faithless and 1 Giant Leap Jamie Catto, and Founder of IFLAS, Professor Jem Bendell. Eclipse is Impact’s events agency. They work with a fantastic range of clients, designing, creating and delivering exciting and motivating events that achieve business objectives.
Eclipse was established in 1989 to provide outdoor and experiential activities for corporate clients, private groups and individuals. We continue to provide outstanding outdoor adventure and skills training. Impact supports the BCtA initiative which was launched in 2008 to encourage businesses to accelerate progress towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and addressing other social and economic challenges. By providing jobs, contributing to environmental sustainability, addressing healthcare challenges in developing countries, and creating opportunities for women, companies contribute to the long-term success and vitality of developing nations. Chartered Management Institute
Impact is an approved Centre with the Chartered Management Institute as the CMI is the only chartered professional body that is dedicated to management and leadership. The CMI granted Impact ‘Approved Centre’ status in 2007 and it is through partnerships like these that the Institute offers a suite of qualifications for managers at all levels, from Team Leaders to Senior Managers and Directors.
For the past 3 years we have been offering a range of CMI management and leadership qualifications at national levels 3, 5 and 7. We are now in the process of seeking approval to extend this remit to cover coaching and mentoring qualifications and are on track to launch these qualifications at levels 3, 5 and 7.
We have worked closely with the CMI to ensure that we retain the unique, challenging and innovative approach that Impact’s award winning programmes are renowned for, whilst creating a robust framework for accreditation. Currently accreditation can be offered on an individual basis or incorporated into a tailor-made programme design.
Compass360 is a tailored on-line 360-degree feedback process that produces Personal Reports. It uses a client’s existing competency framework (or they can choose from the Compass Library of Competencies) to provide insight into confirmed strengths, blind spots, unrecognised strengths and development needs. A Personal 360 Feedback Report provides a data-point from which clients can measure performance improvement during and after a development programme.
