We can all relate to the notion that on some days we are 'unstoppable', with everything we do going amazingly well…and yet on other days we can do nothing right. It is all too easy to blame circumstance, other people or just pure bad luck, but if we take a closer look it is often the personal choices we have made, the actions we have taken and the mindset we have brought that make a huge contribution to the end result.

What is Going the Distance?

Going the Distance is a workshop experience co-created by Impact and Olympic sports psychologist Duncan Richards.

The experience is designed to help individuals explore how they can better understand themselves, resulting in the very best possible chance of them achieving their potential in all parts of their lives. The workshop gives each individual the opportunity to understand how their daily choices significantly affect their health and wellbeing.

The Experience

Going the Distance considers three key areas:

  • Mind
  • Body
  • Spirit

Each one of these has an important effect on our performance in both the short and long term. We are all different and by understanding our personal patterns, preferences and habits we can make more informed choices that will give us a better chance of success.

Workshop content covers:

  • The challenges we face on a daily basis
  • How we deal with pressure
  • Thought patterns that can help or hinder us
  • Effective goal setting
  • What motivates us, and what we want to achieve
  • The importance of nutrition, activity and sleep
  • Creating new habits

Workshop format

Going the Distance can be delivered in any location as a two or three-day highly interactive workshop. We can also work with you to customise workshops for your organisation to meet your specific needs.
