As always, wherever we work around the world, we always commit to building lasting and memorable relationships with whomever we do business. The culture of New Zealand businesses and their people are in many ways unique and exciting.

The current global economic climate is challenging to say the least. We enjoy challenges; just like we enjoy getting close to our clients so we understand their ambitions. What they think

Apple – Sales Accelerator

While I have been looking forward to this event for some time I always saw it as probably the most challenging to date. It was excellent, and the feedback from delegates has been unanimous in its praise. This team are in a very good place now and I'm confident we can keep them there. November 5th was always important but now it is critical.

I know I have been a pain because I have insisted on consistency of facilitators for all the Sales Accelerator workshops, but it has really paid off here. Your knowledge of Apple, experience of working with the other teams, and the insights this gives you, has been the difference between a great course and a truly outstanding one.

Nestle – Building a Coaching Culture

I just would like to tell you that the method we learned in the course works. I am far away being good at but I believe it is improving, still a long way to go though. It was one of the better courses I have ever attended, it was a pleasure to listen and to learn. Thanks to you, your team and your efforts done!

Goodman Fielder Dairy & Meats – Learning Conference

I just wanted to pass on the Company's thanks and appreciation for the effort you guys put in for the Energiser event on Friday morning. I have had nothing but fantastic positive feedback and many want the opportunity to do it again !!

"the best energiser I have ever done" is a sample of the feedback.

I was amazed at the differing results in building the carts and the approach by each team. I would admit I was apprehensive on the level of participation and the 8.00am start given the heavy days and nights, however I think the GF staff really did themselves proud with the combined effort. The level of competitiveness was great - typical of sales people I expect. I unfortunately had to go and quickly set up for my 11.00 session so was not able to offer true thanks …

UBS Investment Bank – Leadership & Talent Development

Tim is a tremendous partner. He is an excellent facilitator and totally engaged OD professional. He and the IMPACT team have become a part of our firm. They know us in a very deep and horizontal way around the world. As Account Manager in Asia, Tim delivers programs all over the world for UBS because we ask for him personally. We know it will increase the chance of program success if Tim is leading the event. He builds relationship with all of our participants that are very real and bonding. He has a knack for building these meaningful long term relationships. He understands our UBS values and culture. He is a winner and a keeper.

Last month, we nominated Tim to facilitate a strategy session for 35 Managing Directors in our Equities business here in NY. To no one's surprise, he received outstanding marks and we all beamed with pride that he was our partner and we had made this successful referral to a very, very important internal global gathering of senior managers.

At Impact NZ we are looking forward to 2010 but we wanted to share some thoughts on 2009 with you.

Our Best Experiences

We have delivered world-class experiences around New Zealand and Asia Pacific, which we're very proud of and we hope to repeat in 2010.

Here is just a taster:

  • Developing people in Northern Queensland; working with indigenous Australians
  • The best REAL coaching workshops in NZ, whereby coaching is used as the contemporary way of doing business
  • Authentic facilitator programme: taking people on a journey of being true to themselves whilst getting real time learning from doing business
  • Developing talented people in tough markets to become leaders of that market
  • Contributing personal time to the Special Olympics in Wanaka, NZ
  • Developing teams by building sustainable ECO Formula One-concept cars
  • Connecting people from all over the world to resolve difficult business situations

Great Things We Have Tried...

Book to make you think: The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson

Best movies: Julie and Julia (Meryl Streep is fantastic as the famous Julia Childs. Bon appetit!), Slumdog Millionaire, Topp Twins (Kiwi classic).

Noteworthy Albums
: Gin Wigmore - "Holy Smoke" and Shapeshifter - "The System is a Vampire" (Tim and Ross would also like to mention their '09 fave, Taylor Swift and her album, "Fearless". Far too hip for their own good).

The body is a temple: Try the liver cleansing diet. We've all tried it and raved about our energy levels. Drink green teas and alkalise people.

Two wheels: We must get on our soap box about single speed bikes, definitely something to check out on You Tube.

Get inspired: www.ted.com for ideas worth spreading.

Flexibility: www.splitfit.com.au Feeling ambitious? then this could just be the thing you're looking for.

Things to try with peanut butter:
banana, bacon, chicken and marshmallow (I know what you're thinking, but it's worth a try. Although... try seperately for the desired effect).

What do you do on a wet Thursday in NZ?

We made a film to review our 2009. To view please click here.
