Martin Kalungu-Banda
Martin Kalungu-Banda serves as a Special Consultant to the President of the Republic of Zambia. He is a core faculty member of the University of Cambridge's Business and Environment Programme. He has served in various capacities for a number of organisations: lecturer and initiator of business ethics at the University of Zambia, Lusaka; corporate affairs manager for BP Zambia; regional social performance manager for BP Africa, Cape Town; and senior policy adviser and head of the private sector policy team for Oxfam GB, Oxford.
Martin has conducted leadership-training programmes for the Zambian Cabinet and permanent secretaries, the Zambia Episcopal Conference and business civil society organisations within and outside Africa. He holds academic qualifications in Public Affairs, Development Studies, Philosophy and Anthropology from the University of Warwick, the University of Zambia, and the Zambia National Seminary.
Martin is author of the book entitled, “Leading Like Madiba: Leadership Lessons from Nelson Mandela”, and he spoke at the 2005 Impact Conference.
Martin is currently winding down his work in Lusaka and will be mainly based in the UK, where he will continue to add great value to Impact's CSER Advisory Group.
